Kimi / Thor
Haha, this one I made on a whim, as I can just imagine Kimi saying that. Although maybe not in so many words ;)
Also check out that sweet Makia t-shirt and the famous mint green shoes :D

Electricity
Right, I've been dabbling in the world of writing lately and kind of fell into writing this story about Sebastian. Who gets struck by lightning. And then has like super electric powers. Yeah, I don't know either. ANYWAY, then I went one step further and drew fanart for my own fanfiction. So here he is trying out his powers on a lamp.
I should probably get back to writing that really...

Rock n Roller Derby
Bah I can't get these to go in the right order.. Anyway, Em Balmer from roller derby asked me to draw something to go on her website featuring herself and Thumper. She was pretty particular about what she wanted and I didn't have to redo it at all as she was so happy with it first time! Which was ace! I also got paid for it, so it's all-round win win for me :)

F1-related shenanigans. We could be here a while.
Haha, I forgot about these. These were some silly fast tiny things I did a while back, aaaaand they don't make much sense out of context now(!) but hey ho. Both of the Seb ones were from ace videos though.
MIA(!)
Sorry I haven't posted in like.. weeks but F1 started again and I got kind of distracted. Which is now why most of my art is F1-related...
This is one of my faves of recent weeks though:
This is one of my faves of recent weeks though:
Little Sebastian and Kimi!
I also posted many MANY graphic-y edits about certain drivers and I'm not sure if I should separate them out into their own posts or kind of condense them together. I'll probably just pick my favourite ones and post them. Because I should leave them here, really.

Sebastian
Presenting Sebastian Vettel. three time Formula 1 World Champion. And all round ace and funny guy.
I kind of love doing these, it's not the hardest thing to do, as I am drawing from a modified reference photo, but I just find it very.. soothing I guess. I don't have to worry about too much. And they look cool at the end. People (okay two people) have said that I should sell them, but I don't know how I feel about that.. We'll see.
Now who to do next! I've done my favourites.. Maybe Nico Rosberg, or Jenson Button. Someone suggested I do "Legends" so maybe I'll try a Senna! If I can find a good enough photo.
Also! Red Bull retweeted my tweet with this in, and yet again, twittersplosion. Two for two on team retweets now!

The Iceman Cometh ...Again.
After I finished my Romain Grosjean drawing, I couldn't NOT do a Kimi one. Over this winter break I've kind of fallen in love a bit with Kimi Raikkonen, I already knew he was awesome (he is a World Champion after all), and that he was hilariously laid back, but then I kinda got involved in the Tumblr world of F1 and there's a lot of Kimi love there! My team for this season is definitely Lotus, especially after they retweeted my Romain drawing and spoke to me:
And obviously for just being all-round amazing people, totally the best at interacting with the fans and have a genuine sense of humour. So yeah, sorry JB, you'll still always be my man, but 2013 is the year of the Lotus boys.
Oh oh, last night I read this brilliant fanfic (I know, don't judge me) about Sebastian Vettel being a robot - a creation of Red Bull made to win races - and that's almost EXACTLY what I said about him all through 2011. But oh gosh this fic... Properly got to me, and the ending... Literal gasps of horror. Anyway, here it is, but be warned that there's quite heavy graphical Kimi/Seb but it's all very sweet and makes total sense in context.

Fuck love.
I think this might be the best thing I have ever drawn.
I love it right now anyway, I'll probably hate it tomorrow. Feel like I'm channelling Steve Zissou with that hat/shirt combo - it was unintentional, I swear!
It was ably aided by the greatest hits of Ash which I listened to while drawing it, I think maybe Clones has overtaken Goldfinger as my favourite Ash song... But now I'm listening to Twilight of the Innocents and it's epic as fuck and I just want to yell and listen to those strings foreverrrrr!
"I'm still breathing, my heart's still beating."
Remember this.

Tamara and Too Many Hats
Oh hey Tamara. Just doodling and playing about with grey tones recently, moving away from just black and white and experimenting with tone and shadow a bit. I'm not very good at highlights and shadowing so it's something I really need to research and look into.
I'm loving drawing Tamara though. She has a wide forehead, and little pokey-out ears and barely a curve on her so I think she makes an excellent demon.
Still need to find a story for her though.
Tonight I did a funny little thing about all the hats I own, completely at random. I only really ever wear the big white wooly one, so why do I have all the others?! Again, playing with greys and stuff yada yada. HATS.
Seeing these two drawings together, it looks like I used a slightly thicker line with Tamara which I'm liking better right now.. But I think it's just because I drew her small, the hat one was drawn on A5.

Beard of Zeus!
I *had* to post this here because it's Marc and he's awesome. It was his birthday today - a fact that he kept quiet so I had no idea until Facebook told me it was. Normally I'd send a card or something, but since it was too late and his girlfriend is insane I figured I'd do him a doodle as that's more or less what I do best.
Obviously all Norse-Metal-Clawhands because it's Maaaaarc <3 Happy birthday ninja!

Starbucks Boy & Possible Beginnings
This is a momentous day - for the first time ever I have drawn something with a (vague) narrative! It's about the guy in Starbucks that I had a crush on but never spoke to or made eye contact with. I don't think he works there anymore, I haven't seen him in a while... I used to just sit there with my drink, reading embarassing books on my Kindle, watching him. Originally this had some text, in my head and on the thumbnails (! I know, right?), hopefully it makes sense without the text.
I also drew some other stuff today, this morning. I kinda created a character. Ish. I kind of want to make a story called Tamara Never Dies (credit goes to Bobbins for this name - it was originally a roller derby name that I still really want! I should probably ask for her permission, actually), and it's a about a demon. Called Tamara. Who's immortal, as demons are sometimes. Not sure if I'd be allowed to get away with that title though? I don't know what the deal is with those kind of things. That's pretty much as far as I got, other than doing some lame head sketches and giving her horns and demon eyes. I don't even know her personality yet, but I guess it's early days.

Ruiner of lives, destroyer of worlds
I have been here before.
Explanation: I upset at least three (3) people over the weekend at Thought Bubble and lots of things are now pretty shitty and I feel like an ass. Who am I to be upset at someone else's happiness?! Idiot.
Anyway, Thought Bubble was actually pretty great for the most part, there was dancing and carousels (you know I love them), and I bought expensive books so now can't buy any food for the rest of the month, erk. And a lovely boy who I think I treated like shit even though he is one of the sweetest people I have ever met. Unfortunately I was lame to my best friend, and it turns out we are both more than a little fucked-up by our ex-boyfriend (long story) which goes to show what a complete ass he was and how similar we are in so many ways. Ugh.
Every time I come back from one of these cons I am always so pumped up for drawing and always vow to come back the next year with a table and lots of stuff to sell. Well this year I am TOTALLY doing it, look I've started already. But the problem is that I don't know what people like.. Like, who would pay money for that drawing of myself up there, that makes no sense without an explanation or if you're not me. I have no idea where to start and my imagination has always been awful. I must not give up though.
I want to move away again. Somewhere better than Weymouth. By better I mean full of more opportunities. I am stagnating here and I don't want to live here all my life.
Also, I have accidental pink hair right now, which is absolutely awesome - thank you cheap red hair dye.

Roller Derby, Drawing and Me
Holy crap, well apparently I've just missed out the whole of September and most of October... In my defence I did move house and didn't have the Internet until halfway through September, so I have a few bits and bobs to post here.
First to be eternally depressing - this was the first thing I drew after not drawing anything for weeks:
I'm just so chipper.
Then I realised I have no idea how the human body is shaped so I practiced drawing from a photo of a model (I need to do this more often):

That dress was awesome, FYI.
And then we come back to the roller derby stuff, this next one was something I did REALLY quickly for my friend who disturbed me while I was doing my Top Secret DRG logo project one night. She loves Arnie.
And finally, the big finish. I spent forever doing this.. My roller derby team doesn't really have a logo to speak of at the moment, and I felt like we should, so being someone that could draw I decided to take this matter into my own hands without telling anyone and just hope that everyone liked the surprise! It went down really well, and the response has been awesome so far, I'm still not sure if they're going to use it for anything, but it was nice to know that everyone was as happy with it as I was. I'm planning to do a full colour version one day, which shading and stuff, but for now I made a 3 colour one which is easier for printing (if we do decided to print it on stuff). Also, DRAGONS WITH ROLLERSKATES ON.
Tada!
We have our FIRST EVER bout tomorrow in Plymouth and it's going to be rad. I'm not playing but I sure have made some kickass supporting posters!

Hulk Smash
I drew this for a roller derby t-shirt competition. The theme was "roller girls are superheroes", I think I'm probably pushing the boundaries with using the Hulk, but he's KIND OF a superhero. I guess? The prize is 25 t-shirts for your team plus this design being on sale at their shop which would be RAD.
We were only allowed to use up to 3 colours, and I wasn't sure if the background white counted as a colour otherwise her hair would definitely be purple.
Still not really happy with the text, I may redo it (I haven't sent it in to the comp yet), also not sure how well this will translate to a t-shirt printed design, as they use silk screen printers and I think my colouring-in isn't solid enough, or my lines aren't nice enough or blahhhhh.
But it would be so cool to have something I drew on a t-shirt! Fingers crossed.
(OMG also, Hulk Smash. I am Smash. Oh I just kill myself)

Bring me the bore worms...
So yesterday was Silus's birthday. I'd already given him a present (a book about the Universe) and made him a cake (blueberry cheesecake), and for some reason decided to draw him a picture which was probably really overboard but NEVERMIND. It's a bore worm from Flash Gordon. Now, nobody actually knows what bore worms look like, only that Princess Aura is very scared of them so they must be baaad. So this one is scaly and spiky, with horns and a slime trail. And a balloon for birthday fun. Happy birthday Silus!

Hearts & Darkness. Plus Balloons.
This drawing was done for no reason other than I was bored sitting at my desk. I really wanted to go for a walk, but it was getting late and I was already in my pyjamas (as per usual) so I didn't really want to go back outside. Basically I was too lazy. But I guess drawing something instead is still A Good Thing.
It doesn't mean anything, but I do have a very large head. Which is true. Also, dark spaces = good. Love love love.
I went to Ikea yesterday and bought a ton of stuff for my new flat, I am so excited! But then I was in Morrison's today and spotted 18 glasses for £3(!) so bought them, even though I already have six from Ikea. Is twenty-four glasses too many? I have my heart set on a sofa called Ektorp, and it's going to be RED with some yellow cushions and it'll be totally rad, I wish I could move in already!!
And Mark Webber won the British GP today, which was gooooood.
